Dubai: “QE2″ is turned into a floating luxury hotel

A long journey came to an end: The cruise ship “Queen Elizabeth 2″ ended today after 39 years service for the British shipping company Cunard permanently moored in Dubai. The state-owned real estate and hotel group Nakheel had bought in 1969 from the left stack liner for around € 100 million, leaving the 293-meter long vessel now converted into a floating luxury hotel.

The state-owned real estate and hotel group Nakheel had bought in 1969 from the left stack liner for around € 100 million, leaving the 293-meter long vessel now converted into a floating luxury hotel.

The big chimney is separated and used as an input area at the specially created investor on the artificial island The Palm Jumeirah. In its place a four-floor hotel suite in smoked glass is created with a private swimming pool. Also on the front cover additional rooms and suites are built. The hotel “QE2″ is approximately 200 rooms with 50 square foot size, ten percent of which will be suites.
